Abstract

The purpose of the study are to determine the effectiveness of previewing technique and vocabulary instruction technique on Pratom 5 students' reading comprehension and to investigate which technique is more appropriate for teaching reading comprehension in the elementary level in Thailand. The students were divided into two groups: the experimental group and a control group. In order to learn reading comprehension, the experimental group used the previewing technique, while the control group used the vocabulary instruction technique.
